How to get on the TikTok For You page in 2026
The FYP is a series of tests, not a lottery. What each test measures, how to pass the first one, and what to do in the hours after posting.
TikTok
Every TikTok video gets a chance on the For You page. What decides whether it stays there is a sequence of tests that start the moment you post.
The batch test
TikTok shows a new video to a small batch of a few hundred people, mostly non-followers with matching interests. It measures completion rate, rewatches, shares, comments, likes and profile taps, in roughly that order of weight. Pass, and the next batch is ten times bigger. Fail, and the video quietly stops at a few hundred views.
This is why follower count matters less on TikTok than anywhere else, and why a first video can hit a million.
Completion is the whole game
A seven-second video watched twice counts as 200% completion. A 60-second video abandoned at second 20 counts as 33%. TikTok strongly prefers the first. Practical rules:
- Hook in the first second. Text on screen, movement, or the result shown before the process.
- No introductions. Nobody knows who you are yet and the FYP does not care.
- End on a loop or a question. A clean loop earns rewatches; a question earns comments.
- Length to the point, not to a target. Long videos work when every second earns the next.
Shares and saves
A share sends your video into someone's DMs, and TikTok reads that as the strongest possible vote. Videos that get shared are usually relatable, useful or surprising. "Send this to someone who…" captions are on the nose but they work because they ask for the exact action the ranker rewards.
The first three hours
- Post when your followers are online; their early reactions start the batch.
- Reply to the first ten comments immediately. Replies are comments.
- Do not delete and repost a slow video; it resets nothing and looks like spam.
- Post the next video within a day. Consistent accounts get more batches.
Sounds, hashtags, captions
Trending sounds still help discovery a little; original sounds help more when they take off. Three to five specific hashtags beat #fyp, which everyone uses and which tells the classifier nothing. Captions should say what the video is about in plain words, because they feed search.
Where a push fits
A video that fails its first batch is rarely retested. Views delivered in the first hours change the batch's numbers, and real viewers arrive from there. It works on a good video and does nothing for a bad one. TikTok packages on Celebboost follow the same rules as everything else here: public link only, gradual delivery, live tracking, refill warranty.
